Ceremonial jar Large Anaconda

A unique original piece from a wide range of artefacts intended for ceremonial cocoa, chocolate dragees and original chocolates from Steiner & Kovařík. Individual cans are arranged in a set, in which they are processed in a wide range of variants - both thematic and technological.

The cans consist of two parts - an upper and a lower part.

The main theme of the jar is a large yellowish snake coiled into a massive ball on the front side of the lid, continuing with its tail along the two walls of the jar's shell. On the remaining two walls of the jar, there is a chameleon and a forest frog, resembling mimicry in shades of green, which essentially become certain invisible artifacts on a greenish background.

Animal bodies juxtapose with stylized tropical jungle leaves and branches. When viewed as a whole from a greater distance, the jar resembles the lower half of a cocoa fruit in green color. The animals themselves do not have to dominate and are meant to evoke the atmosphere of heat, humidity and darkness of a tropical forest, where cocoa trees also grow, producing cocoa beans, from which this chocolate is made.

Technique: This jar has a partial glaze - only in the animal bodies is a glaze applied, which becomes shiny after a sharp firing and thus enables the final completion of the decoration using melting colors and then low-melting colors. In this case, in the first phase, after the pencil drawing on the so-called slag, the contour lines are covered with a melting color. The second stage includes the so-called salting - painting with metal chlorides. This is followed by glazing and firing at 1400˚C. Later, it is transferred to decoration with surface colors and listers at 750-800 °C.

Each piece is provided with the author's signature "BO.NO.2022" on the bottom of the jar between the so-called feet. From all the technological and craft procedures mentioned above, it is clear that this is an absolute hand-made and original creation - an author's work not only in terms of subject matter - content and theme, but also in terms of form - an atypical technological procedure and own processing. Academic painter Boris Nosek hereby guarantees the originality, originality and exclusive authorship of this work.
